READER AWARD CATEGORIES
All discs given a five-star review rating in the January to December 2007 issues of BBC Music Magazine will be considered by the jury.
All five-star discs are then listened to again and considered by each member of the jury out of which a list of 18 nominations are drawn up.
JURY AWARD CATEGORIES
The initial selection process for these four categories is the same as for the Reader Award categories.
FINAL SELECTION CRITERIA
The nominations from the short-listed recordings are selected by the jury under the guidelines of "stand out" qualities in the following areas:
Outstanding performance and overall sound
Brilliantly conceived programmes
Lesser-known repertoire brought to life
Well-known repertoire revealed in a new light
The Jury Award category winners are selected using the above guidelines and the jury's specific expert knowledge of the categories.
