Welcome to BBC Music Magazine Awards!

We launched the BBC Music Magazine Awards in 2006 with the aim of getting our readers involved in selecting the finest recorded performances of the year. After an expert jury from our team of reviewers select 18 nominations, excerpts are streamed on our website and everyone has the opportunity to choose their favourites. In three years we have seen the number of votes surge from 3,000 to a record 80,000 last year. For pictures, film footage, podcasts and information about the last three awards, browse through our Awards website, where you’ll see the starry line-up of winners last year, including Maxim Vengerov, Mark Padmore, Ton Koopman and Emmanuelle Haim.

We will be launching the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2009 on 15 January 2009, and the voting period will last until the end of February. If you would like to keep up to date with the Awards and all the latest from BBC Music Magazine, you can sign up to our newsletter.

Other key dates for your diary are 1 March, when voting closes, and 8 April when we hold our Awards ceremony in London, to which we will be delighted to invite a limited number of voters who enter our prize draw.

Thanks for your support, and watch this space!
